Below is a brief history of how the castle came to be, this page will grow as the site continues to flourish.
How did Kellmett Happens come to be? Where did the Castle begin?…well, if you’re sitting comfortably I’ll begin.
It all started on February 29th 2008 (that’s right, we only age every 4 years now ;) ) in the wee hours of the morning – for those in England at least.
Myself and Kisu were chatting on MSN when I randomly mentioned that I thought Kellan was pretty, and definitely deserving of a pic spam on my LJ. We then talked about whether or not there was a daily community dedicated to him. There wasn’t, and this saddened us, so we decided to create one. Kisu being the creative genius she is decided that Kellmett_daily just wouldn’t do, so, we settled on Kelmett_happens, minus an L due to LJ's name limit.
Now, this may be the place to explain our name. Basically it’s a play on ‘Kismet Happens’. It was inevitable that people would fall for the charms of Kellan & Emmett sooner or later. Kellmett – It happens! Don’t fight fate.
We opened up the LJ community on February 29th and within the day we’d gained around 60 members. Things were going well. We began to discuss the possibility of a website, however, we’re both lacking in the IT department, and we realised it would be a hard task to achieve alone. Luckily, we found our Angel! Ivonne, the genius behind such sites as Eddie-Redmayne.net, Robert-Pattinson.net, and part of the GaspardUlliel.net team, offered her help! It is safe to say that, without Ivonne, none of this would be possible. We really do owe a lot to her.
So on March 7th, we opened the Castle gates, but didn’t open officially until March 19th. Within the first week of the site being open, we already had an offer from a set insider who we named ‘Kiki’. I guess a large amount of interest is thanks to her, also. We love you Kiki!
Having offered us her insider reports, Kiki also offered to make a scrapbook that she would deliver to Kellan on set. After 3 days in Oregon, Kiki had still not met our Princess, but we didn’t lose hope! On day 4, Kellmett happened - literally. She met Kellan and gave him the scrapbook, which he absolutely loved (he also loves being the Princess, for anyone that’s still dubious). After receiving the book, and laughing at our jokes and being overwhelmed by our kindness ;) he then made time to call a member of our Court. One very lucky lady by the name of Kisu got that phone call. After 15 minutes, and several threats of a wrestling match later, the call was over, Kisu’s day was made, and the court could not believe how awesome the Princess was! But it’s all true.
